You can't just take over a turret or open doors. You first need to purchase the upgrade which allows you to control/open things using your praxis points. These are all available under the hacking section.

Deus ex human revolution bug?
When I get to the computers that are supposed to allow me to open doors, disable turrets, etc. they never let me do that and it always says restricted. I've almost beaten the game now so I know it's not a one time thing, anyone know how to fix this?Deus ex human revolution bug?
